A) My written skills are limited due to me not taking any English qualifications further than GCSE but I enjoy writing and I think I have a creative mind so i am able to keep writing and come up with new ideas. However I do have experience in script writing from doing previous projects in my collage course, as well as a lot of experience with Microsoft Office which would make a difference when being the director of a film due to me being able to use the equipment well and keep everything organised.
B) In my verbal communication I feel as if my verbal skills are much better than my writing skills, I see that as an advantage when looking a a specific job role such as a director, for example I am able to communicate with people doing other roles throughout the project as well as give professional directions and instructions to each of the team throughout the project.
C) in my practical production, Looking into my practical skills, i think that they go well with the 2 jobs roles I am looking at. My practical skills include being able to use a camera and have the knowledge and skill to have a good professional outcome. I also can be very organised when it comes to making sure everything is done and clear before starting project in pre production, such as all the planning documents and safety regulations as well as making sure everything is suitable and complete in post production.
D) Looking into my creativity, I think that I am very creative and can come up with a lot of professional ideas which would benefit me a lot when looking into both of these roles. For example having good ideas on how to film or having an actor act in a certain way. Or being the director and getting involved with set design and the creative ideas. As well as being the camera operator and being able to film in different creative ways to produce a professional final outcome.
E) I think that I could improve on my written communication because when looking into being a director you need to be involved in all parts of the production stages, for example in pre production to be a director you need to be involved with everything such as the set designs, locations reccee, risk assessments and production plans so if i improved my writing skills i feel that it would benefit me more in the paper work of the production because i could put a lot more detail into it. I could also improve my verbal communication skills so other people in other roles of the project know exactly what they are doing if I could describe the task better.
F) Looking into the gap in my skills I am going to try and work on more projects to keep practising the things I am not good at. For example get more involved in the pre production when next taking the director role. As well as trying different things and ideas so I could practise explaining them to other people in the team.
